Who Is Lanier?
My name is Arthur Lanier, I’m a 18 years old music producer based in Geneva, Switzerland. I started making beats on FL Studio at 16, after discovering music production through YouTube videos. The software immediately caught my attention, but without any guidance, diving into such a complex world quickly became overwhelming. I ended up taking a break… until I came back with clear goals and a real drive to grow.
Since then, I haven’t looked back. Producing music has become more than just a hobby — it’s a true passion that’s part of my everyday life, even during busy school periods. I’ve always listened to a lot of music, especially trap, and I grew up in a home where music was always present — between the songs I discovered on my own and the ones my parents used to play. Creating beats quickly became a way for me to express myself and build something solid and personal.
Today, I’m actively developing my sound by collaborating with artists, and I’m steadily getting closer to a dream I’ve had since the beginning: producing for the artists I admire and hearing my beats alongside theirs, just like I’ve always listened to their tracks. And I won’t stop until that dream becomes reality.
The Beat That Started It All
At the time, I had reached a point where I knew I couldn’t keep my beats sitting on my hard drive any longer. I needed to get them out there. I wanted to collaborate, to place my first tracks — but despite weeks of networking and sending messages to hundreds of rappers, nothing was really working. I got vague answers, if any.
I was focused on finding artists that matched my sound — especially rising names from Texas, which was the vibe I was producing most at the time. That’s when I came across Mac-K the K Baby. His numbers felt way out of reach: over 130K followers on Instagram, almost 100K monthly listeners on Spotify. I didn’t even message him directly — I just saw a booking email in his bio and thought, why not? I sent four or five beats, not really expecting anything to happen.
And then — out of nowhere, just when I was starting to doubt everything — his manager reached out. One of my beats had caught their ear, and everything moved quickly after that. The track dropped, and that moment changed everything for me. It gave me hope again, opened new doors, and brought a level of credibility I didn’t have before.
